What after BDS
After completing the 5 years course which includes a 4 year of regular course with 1 year of compulsory internship. The candidates got to learn more in their 5-year journey. However if any candidate thinks that they want to pursue any course on any other thing to set up their clinic or job, etc. So this is the right time to start as soon as possible. Therefore a candidate must know what the opportunities are after completing the BDS course. Below we have listed some of the courses that can help candidates to know more about what they can do after completing the BDS course:
- Higher Studies: After completing the course, the candidates can either pursue masters Or Ph.D. programs. This course can help them in the future and also they will get to know more about and in-depth of their field.
- Masters of Dental Surgery: Master of dental surgery is a 3 years postgraduate course. Admission to the Institute is done based on entrance tests. Moreover, candidates must pass the graduation exam with good marks. MDS degree is also recognized by the Dental Council of India(DCI). The course offers many specializations in dentistry which are Crown & Bridge, Prosthodontics, Oral Medicine & Radiology, Conservative Dentistry, etc. Some of the MDS Entrance Exams are NEET MDS, NIMS Entrance Exam, AIIMS PG Entrance Exam, etc. The candidates must have completed their Internship for BDS before taking admission in MDS Course. Moreover, the candidates also have obtained a minimum of 55 to 60% marks in their BDS course.
- Masters in Business Administration(MBA in Hospital Management): MBA in Healthcare management is a two-year postgraduate course. The courses focused on the Management part of the Healthcare industry. Furthermore, a candidate who has done a bachelor's Degree in any discipline can pursue this course. And a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50-60% marks in the graduation course. After qualifying for the entrance test, Some of the institutes has admission criterion which includes group discussion and personal interview. Additionally, the entrance exams for MBA in Hospital Management courses are CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, etc. The average salary candidates can get after the completion of the courses is INR 5 lakh per annum to INR 14 lakh per annum. Some of the top job positions in MBA in hospital management are Healthcare Manager, Hospital Administrator, Pharmaceutical Production Engineer, etc.
- Masters in Public Health (MPH): Master of Public Health is a 2-year Postgraduate course. Additionally, a candidate must do Bachelor's course in any Health Science Discipline. Also, the candidates have to pass the graduation test with at least 60% marks. Moreover, the candidates have to appear for the entrance test. If they qualified for the entrance test, then there will be Group discussions and Personal Interviews in some of the Institutes. Additionally, after the overall score of the entrance exam and interview round, the final score will be released. The Career options in the MPH course are Research Analyst, Health Inspector, Healthcare Administrator, etc. The average salary a candidate can get after the completion of the course is INR 8 lakh per annum to INR 15 lakh per annum.
