What is the BDS Eligibility Criteria?
The eligibility for BDS admission is mentioned below:
- The candidates must have to score at least 50% marks in the class 12th exam in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Also, the candidates who belong to scheduled caste and scheduled tribes, and other backward classes must ensure at least 40% marks in the class 12th examination.
- Additionally, PWD candidates must have to secure 45% marks in the class 12th examination.
- Moreover, the candidates also must qualify for the NEET entrance test to take admitted to the BDS course.
- Admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery course is given by the NEET Entrance Test. Furthermore, candidates must have to clear the cut-off to be eligible for the course in an Institute.
- If the candidates clear the entrance test and qualify for the cutoff. Then there will be a counseling round. Generally, there are 3-4 counseling rounds all held in the Institute.
- The candidates must have to fulfill specific criteria such as nationality, age, and many more. If they fail to prove the specified criteria then their application will be rejected.
- Furthermore, candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or before 31st December at the time of admission.
- As of now, the upper age limit criteria have been removed because of the judgment pending in the supreme court.
- Furthermore, the candidates who have passed the Class 12th exam from Open School are eligible subject to the ruling of the court as the matter is subjudice.
- Moreover, also the admission will be done based on the State Merit List announced by each state.
